Mg-Maestro is an open source project that will help you to author, edit, and publish maps and map overlays. This release introduces a completely new core with all new features and major improvements. The client may be run in a variety of environments including a standard Windows environment, a Java virtual machine, an interactive console or a command prompt.
Installing a client that is compatible with MapGuide Maestro is done via the system administrators of the client and the client machine. The client is configured manually or automatically by MapGuide Maestro.
After the client has been installed, the client is required to access a connection pool. The connection pool will be established on the client machine that will allow client applications to be connected to MapGuide Maestro. There are two types of connection pools: * Windows Global Pool (a.k.a. Windows shared memory pool) * Local Database Pool.
Setting up a client for use with MapGuide Maestro:
1.Install the client first.
2.Tell MapGuide Maestro, where you want to save your client
connection information.
3.Locate the connection information.
4.Tell MapGuide Maestro where to look for the client’s connection information.
5.Tell MapGuide Maestro whether the client should use the ‘windows shared memory pool’ or a ‘local database pool’.
